Sensitive Conversion of a Non-Designated Heritage Asset

Located in a tranquil Helford riverside setting, and previously forming part the historic Trelowarren estate, the Boathouse was locally known as such (having previously been utilised for the repair of small boats) but historically formed a 19th century fish cellar benefitting from its riverside quay location.

The project involved the sensitive conversion and sympathetic extension of the existing building within a highly protected landscape setting which included: designated flood risk zones, the setting of a Grade II listed structure, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and an Ancient Woodland.
