Grade II Listed Building – Commercial Extension and Alterations

Situated in the historic harbour town of Fowey, Appleton’s is an example of listed building adaption for commercial use. The team delivered a sensitive renovation that repaired and retained historic fabric, while introducing contemporary elements to support a high-quality restaurant environment.

The design carefully negotiates the relationship between old and new, ensuring the building’s historic character remains legible while accommodating modern hospitality requirements. Interior spaces blend traditional with contemporary design, drawings inspiration from Cornwall’s coastal and maritime heritage.

This project demonstrates how heritage renovation and reuse can support the local economies while preserving the architectural significance and charm of the historic streetscapes.
