Ambition with Identity: CAD Heritage partners with the Cornish Pirates

CAD Heritage are delighted to announce a new partnership with the Cornish Pirates, as part of CAD Architects Ltd becoming the club’s Official Architecture and Planning Partner.

Our signage sits proudly alongside CAD Architects and CAD Planning on the crowd-facing hoardings of the Tribute Stand, providing a prominent new presence that was unveiled ahead of the Pirates’ first league game of the new season on Sunday.

So why the Pirates?

Key to our work at CAD Heritage is understanding ‘significance’, or in other words what makes something special or valued, and ensuring the things that contribute to it are understood and respected as part of managed change.

The Cornish Pirates have a proud sporting history and a particularly strong identity, shaped by a deep connection to the culture of Cornwall, a county they represent with great pride on the national stage.

Today, the club is looking confidently to the future, with a long-term strategy for growth, new investment and plans to develop the next generation of Cornish rugby talent. Importantly, that ambition is building upon the club’s existing strengths and values, carrying them forward as the Pirates continue to evolve.

That approach resonates strongly with us.

Good conservation is not about standing still. It is about understanding what people value and why they care about it, then managing change in a way that protects those qualities while keeping them relevant and meaningful from one generation to the next.

The recent launch of the Cornish Pirates Foundation reinforces that connection between the club and its community, using the reach and values of rugby to create positive outcomes across Cornwall.

That matters because identity is ultimately sustained by people.

As the Pirates grow and evolve, continuing to engage with their community and giving new generations reasons to connect with the club will help ensure that what makes it special remains relevant and valued into the future.

For us, that combination of strong roots, care for community and confidence to embrace change makes the Pirates a particularly good fit.

We are proud to support a club that understands what makes it special, values where it has come from and is using those strengths as the foundation for an ambitious future.
